Soothe and Ease: Therapy, Counselling & Parenting Advice holds the following terms and conditions.
1. Nature of Psychological Services: The counselling & therapy process will involve ascertaining your present situation, taking in account the social, cultural and developmental factors. It means we will not see situations just at the face value, but will try and get a 360 degree view of the situation. This would enable you to also view your own life from all angles and every session might bring new insights about yourself and your life’s situations.
2. Confidentiality: All information that you share with us will not be shared with anyone, not even with your closest family members, without your written consent. But, in a few situations, we might not be able to keep the information confidential, including:
- If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others
- If there is suspicion of abuse or neglect of a minor, elderly, or disabled person
- If required by law or court order
- For the purpose of professional supervision or consultation (with identifying information removed)
3. Record Keeping: You might notice your therapist writing a few points from time to time during the session. These notes help the therapist in remembering their observations and gives shape to the therapy process. Apart from notes taken during the session, we keep a record of Intake & Informed Consent (this form). All these records are kept strictly confidential and the points shared in point 2. are followed.
4. Voluntary Participation: Participation in psychological services is by your choice and you have the right to withdraw from therapy at any time. You won’t be obligated to share reasons for leaving therapy.
5. Risks and Benefits: Counselling & Therapy lead to many benefits, for not just mental health and emotional wellbeing, but, also for your overall wellbeing & happiness. Though, there are no tangible risks of Counselling & Therapy, but these sessions involve experiencing uncomfortable emotions or recalling distressing memories, which some individuals may find as risks or difficulties faced during the sessions. But, experiencing these is a crucial part of the therapy process and you will receive support from your therapist in managing these.
6. Fees and Cancellation: Fees for the psychological services is listed on our website and if you have availed for any discount, these will be pre-decided. Payment for the session will be required at the time of booking the session and is refundable if you cancel the session 24 hours before the commencement of the session. For cancellation requested in less than 24 hours, amount will not be refundable.
7. Emergency Situations: Soothe and Ease is not a crisis intervention center & therefore does not provide emergency services. Services are rendered only during the scheduled sessions. For any emergencies, go to the nearest hospital.
